What does the calculator do?

You can use it to:

• Estimate how much your home electrical appliances and lights cost to run
• Compare the cost of using appliances in different ways (e.g. washing clothes at 40 °C versus 60 °C)
• See the positive impact of using your appliances wisely (e.g. using a small ring on your stovetop versus a larger one)

Cost calculations are based on a 61-day cycle, just like your ESB Customer Supply Bill.

How to use it

1. Select the appliance category from the menu on the left
2. Click on the dropdown arrow and select your appliance
   - The Power rating fields will fill in automatically, or you can change if required
3. Click 'Add to list'
4. Repeat these steps to build up your list of appliances

Hints

• To remove an appliance at any stage, just select the appliance and click 'Delete'
• To edit a calculation on the list, select it and click 'Modify', then repeat the steps above
• To reset the calculator, click 'Clear list'
