Disconnecting your account

We try to avoid disconnecting supply unless absolutely necessary.

We do not disconnect if you are simply moving out of your home and it will be occupied by another owner/tenant soon.

When to disconnect

We will arrange to have your electricity supply disconnected if:

  • A fire has occurred in your home
  • Your home is to be refurbished
  • Your home will be unoccupied and may be a safety hazard
  • Your home is to be demolished

Unpaid bills

We may disconnect your electricity supply if:

  • You have not paid your Electric Ireland bill, and
  • You have not contacted us to arrange a payment schedule
  • You fail to keep a payment schedule
