Our credit terms
Here are our requirements for the setup and payment of your Electric Ireland bill.
Your bill is due for payment 14 days after it is issued.
It's important that you pay your bill within this allowed time, as failure to do so puts you at risk of your supply being cut off.
Please read our full terms and conditions.
Information for new customers
New customers are required to either set up a Direct Debit for their account, or pay a €300 deposit.
We encourage you to set up a Direct Debit and avoid paying the €300 deposit. If you do not choose to do so, the €300 deposit must be paid within 10 working days of moving into your new home.
Paying by a Direct Debit
There are three ways to set up a Direct Debit:
- Sign up online for Direct Debit
- Lo-call 1850 372 372
- Complete the Direct Debit mandate when you receive your welcome letter from us.
Paying your deposit
If you choose not to sign up for Direct Debit, you can pay your €300 deposit by:
- Cash or cheque at any post office
- Cash at any PayPoint, Payzone or PostPoint outlet
- Laser by phone on 1850 372 372. Just press 2 for Electric Ireland
- Cheque (payable to Electric Ireland) posted to CPP, Electric Ireland, PO Box 12152, Dublin 15. Please ensure that you put your Electric Ireland Account Number on the back of the cheque
Please note: Provided your bills are paid in full and on time, your deposit will be credited to your account 14 months after payment, or credited against your closing bill if the account is closed before the 14 month period.
No deposit is required if you have been a customer of ours in the last two years and your account was paid on time and in full.
