Your bill

Every two months, you get a bill from ESB Customer Supply for the electricity you use. Find out how we charge and what to do if you receive an estimated bill.

About your bill

You receive six bills a year- one very two months.ESB Networks plan to read your meter four times a year so four of your bills are based on actual readings while the remaining two are based on meter reading estimates.

Your bill contains detailed information about:
  • The amount of electricity being charged to your account
  • Any unpaid balances from previous bills
  • Any allowances to which you may be entitled, such as Free Electricity Allowance.

What is an estimated bill?

ESB Networks look after reading your meter and they plan to read all residential meter four times a year. This means that, where possible, four bills will be based on actual readings and two will be calculated using estimated readings. Estimated bills are based on previous usage.

We will adjust your bill when your next actual metered bill is calculated, or you can submit a meter reading online right now.

How am I charged?

The rate you pay for your electricity depends on the tariff you are on. This is listed on your bill.
