To arrange for your new premises in a new multi-unit development to be connected to the electricity network, you must first obtain the following information:
To get all this information, contact the developer or builder of your multi-unit development.
At an earlier stage, the developer will have received a cost quotation and Development Agreement from ESB Networks. Once the money has been paid and the signed Development Agreement has been received by ESB Networks, we commence construction of the necessary electricity infrastructure. We then work in conjunction with the builder /developer to bring the necessary electricity lines and cables to each unit.
The process for making the connection live that applies to you depends on the size of your MIC.
If your MIC is less than 30 Kilovolt-Amperes (kVA) you can contact the Supplier of your choice or you may contact ESB Networks (phone 1850 372 757) to request that your connection be made live.

You will need the following information when contacting us:The registered electrical contractor who is certifying the electrical wiring in your premises, must also send the ETCI wiring certificate to his/her regulatory body quoting your MPRN and address.

If your MIC that is greater than 30kVA you must first register with an electricity supplier of your choice.

You will then receive a connection agreement from ESB Networks which you must sign and return to the following address:
ESB Networks,In the meantime, the registered electrical contractor who is certifying the electrical wiring in your premises, must also send the ETCI wiring certificate to his/her regulatory body quoting your MPRN and address.

Note: Your new connection cannot be made live until ESB Networks has received both the signed Connection Agreement and confirmation that a valid ETCI wiring certificate has been issued for your premises.
Once the above requirements have been met, ESB Networks can schedule the work required to make your new connection live. The electrical contractor will then switch on the electricity in your premises.
