Customer Moving into a Home in a New Housing / Apartment Scheme

To arrange for the electricity connection in your house or apartment to be made live, you have the option of:

• Registering with a supplier of your choice who will organise it on your behalf.
  View a list of all electricity suppliers on the CER web site.
• Contacting ESB Networks directly by phoning 1850 372 757.

For either option, you must provide your name and contact telephone number plus two pieces of information as follows which you can obtain from your builder /developer:

1. The Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) for your new home. This is a unique reference number that identifies your connection point to the electricity network.
2. The address of your home (as defined at the planning stage). This allows us to link the MPRN to the actual address of your new house or apartment.

As a result of your request, ESB Networks will complete the installation of your meter (This will only occur if your registered electrical contractor has sent the wiring certificate for your property to his/her contractors' regulatory body and provided the builder/developer has completed all works to ESB Networks Specifications.

Note: The final step will subsequently be made by the builder's electrician who will switch on the electricity in your new home.
