Marina
- Location: Centre Park Road, Cork City
- Technology: Natural Gas and Distillate
- Capacity: 96MW
- Commissioned: 1954
Marina Station is located in the heart of the Cork City Docklands and has produced electricity since 1954. It has one open cycle gas turbine capable of running on gas or distillate.
Marina has gone through several different running regimes since its opening including coal, oil, and now gas. Over time. what was once the largest producer of power in Ireland has become one of the smallest. However, Marina remains essential to the grid, providing power direct to Cork City and also providing rapid, reliable back-up for wind power in the Cork and Kerry area.
