ESB statement on the CER price announcement

10th September 2007: ESB welcomes the CER's announcement today that electricity prices for our customers will fall by on average 6.1 percent from the 1st November 2007 as the full benefit from reduced fuel costs are passed on to consumers.

The reductions represent the first fall in electricity prices in two decades.

The 1.9 million domestic customers will benefit from a 5.4% cut while our business customers will see savings of up to 10 percent.

Electricity prices for Domestic Customers will be in line with the EU average following the adjustment.

ESB also welcomes the 10 percent reduction for our business customers.
