Statement from ESB regarding River Shannon as at 9:45am, Sunday 29th November 2009
29th November 2009:
Water levels in Lough Derg fell by 3cm since yesterday. ESB is not increasing the discharge rate from Parteen Weir today, but will continue to discharge at the same rate as yesterday (Saturday 28/11/2009). This discharge rate has remained unchanged for the past three days.
In general, flood levels downstream of Parteen Weir are not expected to change, but ESB is still advising constant vigilance.
The situation is under constant review and ESB continues to work closely with the Inter Agency Group which includes the local Councils, HSE and the Emergency Services.
A fresh update will be issued on Monday, November 30th.
