ESB Flood Update at 5:30pm on Wednesday 2nd December
2nd December 2009:
River Shannon:
The situation on the River Shannon remains unchanged since this morning and the discharge rates throughout the day were maintained.
ESB is still advising constant vigilance. The situation remains closely monitored and ESB continues to work with the Inter Agency Group including the Local Councils, HSE and the Emergency Services.
River Liffey:
Water levels along the River Liffey continued to fall throughout the day. ESB continues to discharge water from Poulaphouca Reservoir while levels remain high.
As in the case of River Shannon, continued vigilance is important and ESB maintains close co-operation with the Local Authorities and the Emergency Services.
A further update will be issued in the morning (Thursday, December 3rd).
