ESB Regulated Residential Prices
ESB confirms that there will be no change in its energy prices for regulated residential customers from 1st October 2010.
However, all suppliers, including ESB, are required to apply the previously announced Public Service Obligation (PSO) Levy to all of their customers from 1st October 2010. This will result in a 4.9% increase in the annual electricity costs of a typical household.
It should be noted that over the last two years ESB has reduced its prices to residential customers by 12%. From 1st October 2010, after applying the PSO Levy, customers’ electricity bills will be 7% below those seen in October 2008. The latest Eurostat data (published May 2010) shows that Republic of Ireland residential electricity prices for a typical household are 2% below the Eurozone average.
PSO Levy for residential customers will be €5.46 per bimonthly bill
