HALO: The Home Energy Efficiency Programme
The HALO Programme was launched by ESB Energy Services in July 2009, since then over 20,000 households have received a free home energy survey. Its aim was to encourage householders to improve the energy efficiency of their homes whilst taking advantage of the SEAI Home Energy Savings Scheme grants.
The 20,000 householders across the country that took part in HALO were given;
- a free energy efficiency survey,
- recommendations for remedial works
- advice on cost and payback times for these works,
- details of available grants
- a list of SEAI-registered contractors able to provide a “one-stop shop” for the energy efficiency measures recommended.
The programme was a great success and illustrated the huge level of interest homeowners now have in improving their energy efficiency.
* The first phase of the HALO Programme has now come to an end, therefore we are no longer accepting applications for Free HALO Surveys. We are pleased to announce that we will be launching a new HALO Energy Efficiency Initiative later this year.
