The Novus Modus fund
ESB established the investment fund Novus Modus Limited in 2008, tasked with sourcing, evaluating and executing appropriate investments in companies and technologies with breakthrough potential in:
- Energy from renewable sources
- Distributed generation
- Products for more efficient energy conversion and utilisation
- Other energy solutions from the use of cleaner fuels
The fund's objectives are to:
- Stimulate innovation and development of renewable technologies
- Generate a positive return on the capital invested
- Facilitate development of technologies which may be transferable to ESB
