A Hub for Future Energy Solutions
ESB’s X_Site innovation hub is where teams explore disruptive ideas, pilot new concepts and collaborate with customers to develop future energy products and services. ESB, like all traditional utility companies across the world needs to find new opportunities for growing its business as competition intensifies, new technologies emerge and customer requirements change.
X_Site is located at Dogpatch Labs, CHQ Building, Dublin 1. Dogpatch Labs is a leading technology hub in Ireland with a mix of tenants including start-ups, IDA backed companies and established corporate organisations. Project teams at X_Site embrace the innovative culture and ecosystem at Dogpatch Labs, learning about agile techniques from start-ups located there and pilot new business propositions in partnership with customers and partners.
Ireland’s EnergyTech Meetup
ESB’s X_Site hosted Ireland's first ever energy technology meetup to bring together a diverse group of people to discuss the energy services and systems of the future.
Over one hundred people attended the evening event in Dogpatch Labs which also included the following expert speakers:
- Derek Hynes, Operations Manager at ESB Networks who examined Ireland's electricity network and explored what the future holds for homes, businesses and society.
- Richard O’Loughlin from Endeco technologies explained how energy intensive companies can earn new revenue streams from their assets.
- Our final speaker, Edel Coen from early stage investor Business Venture Partners, shared her vision of what investors are looking for in cutting edge clean tech start-ups.
