How long is the ESB Graduate Programme? The ESB Graduate Programme is a 2.5 year programme with annual evaluations. The objective of our Graduate Programme is to launch you on a fast track to career success. Throughout the programme, you’ll enjoy challenging work in a supportive environment where everyone is invested in your training and growth. What opportunities are available? We have a number of opportunities across a broad range of disciplines including Engineering, Business, IT, Finance, Marketing and HR. Applications for the 2019 Graduate Development Programme are now closed. Applications for the 2020 programme will open in September 2019. When you apply, you will be asked to complete an online application form. Here you will be asked to attach your CV and complete an online assessment that will be emailed to you. When does employment commence? Employment for successful candidates will commence the following September. Where will I be based? ESB operates across the full spectrum of the electricity market in Ireland. What is the minimum academic requirements? Applicants must be on target for or have achieved a 2.1 honours degree or higher. What type of skills are we looking for? Strong communication skills and the ability to learn quickly Generate and develop ideas in order to create a culture of innovation Proven self-starter with the drive and desire to succeed Ability to work effectively in a team and independently on tasks Can I apply for more than one position? You can choose which area of the business you want to apply to, and you can express a preference for your second choice. I applied previously and was unsuccessful. Can I apply again? If you are unsuccessful you can reapply for the following year’s intake. Can I defer my place on the Graduate Programme until the following year? Unfortunately you can’t defer your place. We do understand that some graduates may not be in a position to accept an offer due to circumstances beyond their control. For these individuals we ask them to keep in touch and re-apply the following year. Can I apply if I need a work permit? It is a requirement that you are eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland. If you do not hold an appropriate work permit, ESB can assist with the process. How can I prepare for my interview? Click here for CV and interview tips to help you with your application. When will interviews occur? Successful candidates will be invited to interview in November and December each year. Interviews will include a case study and a face-to-face competency based interview.
