Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical and Civil)

As an Engineering Graduate you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, both in Ireland and overseas, while pursuing your professional accreditation.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our three year Engineering Graduate Programme. If you are due to graduate in 2018, or have graduated in the last two years and are looking to develop your career in an exciting and fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you.

As an Electrical Engineering Graduate you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, both in Ireland and overseas, while pursuing your professional accreditation.

What We Look For?

  • You should have (or be working towards) a minimum Level 8 Engineering Degree with a minimum 2:1 classification
  • Graduate Engineering positions will be based throughout Ireland, and you may need to be able to travel nationally in the case of ESB Networks and internationally in the case of Generation & Wholesale Markets and ESB International
  • You need good communication skills, excellent analytical skills and the ability to learn quickly
  • Be innovative in your approach and able to demonstrate your ability to actively contribute your team

Join our team of almost 500 IT professionals operating one of the most technologically advanced IT and telecommunications systems in Ireland. ESB has one of the largest IT spends in the country, is Ireland’s largest SAP user organisation and support more than 450 applications.

Working within our IT Services team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of IT Professionals working to achieve maximum value for all our IT investments.

We design, deliver and support all activities associated with ESB’s IT strategy through innovative IT solutions. We operate one of the most technologically advanced IT and telecommunications infrastructures in the country running over 450 applications as well as being the largest SAP user in Ireland. We also have one of the largest IT spends in the country and we deliver a large number of new multi-million euro IT projects each year.

Our underlying technologies include:

  • Linux and Windows server infrastructure using VMWare;
  • AIX operating system on Unix;
  • Storage infrastructure;
  • IP Network;
  • ORACLE, DB2 and SQL Server relational databases supporting a large SAP footprint including Payroll, HR, Finance, Billing and Retail Market Operations and ABAP Development;
  • Business Warehouse and Business Objects;
  • Significant investment in mobile, web, digital and collaborative technologies.

    As a Marketing Graduate you will work in Electric Ireland, the customer facing business unit of ESB and one of Ireland’s most recognised brands. The team provides a full suite of award winning marketing initiatives including the development and implementation of marketing plans, ATL & BTL communications, PR, sponsorship, event management, digital marketing and stakeholder engagement.     Accountancy

    As part of our Finance team you will gain invaluable experience in all aspects of the Finance function. In addition, we will support you in achieving your professional accountancy qualification.

    We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our three and a half year Accountancy Traineeship. If you are due to graduate in 2018, or have graduated in the last two years and are looking to develop your career in an exciting and fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you.

    ESB has a centralised Finance Operations organisation that provides a range of finance services across ESB Group. The Accountancy Traineeship offers the successful candidates the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team. Key priorities for Finance Operations are the delivery of best practice finance processes and the continued development of staff.

    On our Accountancy Traineeship you will get an opportunity to experience first-hand how our company works and what is the driving force behind it. You will be part of the Finance Operations team and will be sponsored to do your ACA qualification.  Support, training and challenging assignments as part of the Finance Operations team will stand you in excellent stead for any future career.

    What We Look For?

    • You should have (or be working towards) a minimum 2.1 Honours Degree in Business, Accountancy & Finance or equivalent course where Accountancy was a major component
    • Cap 1 exemption desirable
    • Strong IT skills. Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage, but is not essential.
