ESB Promoting the Arts
For generations, ESB has been a supporter of the arts, recognising that a vibrant arts culture drives creation and innovation and plays a key role in community engagement.
This tradition continues today and can be seen, heard and enjoyed through our partnerships with ESB Feis Ceoil, ESB Centre for Study of Irish Art in The National Gallery and ESB Live at the National Concert Hall. ESB is also a multi-annual corporate sponsor of the Abbey Theatre, Business to Arts and the Dublin Theatre Festival.
ESB Feis Ceoil
ESB Feis Ceoil is an annual classical musical festival which promotes excellence in the learning and performance of classical music across all ages, levels and disciplines in Ireland. Over 5,000 young musicians compete in over 200 competitions annually.
ESB Centre for Study of Irish Art
Established in 2002, the National Gallery of Ireland’s ESB Centre for Study of Irish Art (CSIA) has established its role in promoting and supporting the study of Irish art. The Centre’s library and archive collections are now an essential resource for those interested in the history of visual art in Ireland. The ESB CSIA’s primary collection comprises over 50 individual collections of original archive material relating to Irish artists, groups and institutions from the 18th century to the present.
The ESB Live Concert Series, hosted by the National Concert Hall, provides a platform for Irish and International artists to perform, including Jack L, Julie Feeney, Carlos Nunez, Pink Martini, The Gloaming, Cerys Matthews, Ladysmith Black Mombazo and Anuna.
