Register for Charging
ecars is rolling out the public charge point infrastructure as well as installing free home charge points for the first 2,000 purchasers of new electric vehicles (EV) registered in Ireland that qualify for the SEAI Grant.
We have now reached that target with the installation of 2,300 home chargers and this incentive will end on December 22nd 2017
(T&C's apply, see below).
The Government has announced a new grant of €600 towards the installation of a home charger unit from 1 January 2018. The grant will be administered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). Details of the new grant scheme can be found at: https://www.seai.ie/grants/electric-vehicle-grants/electric-vehicle-home-charger-grant/
Register for Home Charging
To register for ecars home charging scheme (which closes on December 22nd 2017), please click here.
Once you are approved for a charge point installation, you will receive a welcome pack in the post which contains charging information and a charge point access card. This card will allow you to access the network of public charge points in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. A map of the charge points around the country can be found here.
Register for Public Charging Access
To access the public charge point network (if you do not qualify for a free home charge point installation from ESB) you need to provide proof of purchase (e.g. vehicle registration document), a copy of the Vehicle Licensing Certificate (log book) stating you as the owner of the vehicle, and a utility bill (not older than three months). We then provide you with a welcome pack containing a charge point access card which enables use of the network at no cost. Please forward the required information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
