ESB win at Chambers Ireland Corporate Social Responsibility Awards 2014

ESB won in two categories at the 2014 Chambers Ireland CSR Awards on 18 September.

A team from Generation and Wholesale Markets won in the Excellence in Environment  Category for the Ardnacrusha Sustainability Project (last year’s  overall winner of  ESB’s Sustainability Awards).  ESB’s Health and Wellbeing team won in the Excellence in the Workplace Category for their programme of supporting positive mental health for staff (including the Mind Ur Buddy initiative, the confidential helpline and the series of financial and mental health seminars run throughout the country).

The Awards, which are in their 11th year, are Ireland’s largest and most important Corporate Responsibility Awards. Pat Naughton, Executive Director, Group People and Sustainability congratulated the winning teams saying "It’s great to see the hard work that has been put in by both these teams being nationally recognised.  Our winning entries are examples of bringing innovative thinking to improve the way we do business.  We are committed to sustainable  and responsible working, in all aspects of our business and we should be encouraged and motivated by these results".
