Don’t put yourself or others at risk of electrocution for the sake of that piece of bunting and colour!

At this time of year, many local communities are busy getting ready for festivals, field days and other events to showcase their neighbourhood and add a bit of colour. Bunting and flags look fantastic but NEVER, EVER attach them to electricity poles. No bunting is worth a life!

Electricity poles and pylons carry live conductors which are positioned overhead to be out of harm’s way. It is important to keep well away as coming close puts you at serious risk of injury. Remember, electricity can jump gaps. As well as the risk to the people involved, others are also put at risk when the bunting unravels. 

We again remind the public to never attach bunting or flags to ESB poles. It puts lives at risk.
