Familiar faces come together to lend support to Darkness Into Light

As proud sponsor, Electric Ireland creates empowering video to drive awareness

Electric Ireland has today launched an empowering and uplifting video to raise awareness of Pieta House’s annual Darkness Into Light event. The video features a range of Ireland’s biggest names in sports, acting and broadcasting, including: RTE Veteran Miriam O’Callaghan, Fashion Power Duo Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon, Leinster Rugby star Jack McGrath and Fair City actress Rachel Pilkington. The video can be viewed here:

With ten days to go, those starring in the video, together with Electric Ireland and Pieta House, urge the Irish public to get involved with this year’s Darkness Into Light event on May 7th at 4.15am by registering online at www.darknessintolight.ie.

Electric Ireland has been the proud title sponsor of Pieta House’s flagship fundraising event, Darkness Into Light, since 2013. In 2015, over 500 people lost their lives to suicide in Ireland. Electric Ireland understands the importance of Darkness Into Light which gives people the opportunity to talk about the topic of suicide.

Darkness into Light is Pieta House’s annual awareness and fundraising event and is the most vital component of Pieta House’s fundraising calendar. The first Darkness Into Light event was held in the Phoenix Park, Dublin in 2008 with just over 400 participants. This year’s event is set to be the biggest yet with an estimated 120,000 participants, in almost 120 locations around the globe, preparing for the May 7th 5km walk. With just ten days to go, Electric Ireland and Pieta House urge the public to get involved.
