ESB has today announced that Donal Flynn, Group Finance Director, will be leaving the company to join Glen Dimplex as its Chief Financial Officer.
 
The process to appoint Donal’s successor will begin immediately and, in the meantime, Donal will continue in his present role to facilitate the transition.
 
Pat O’Doherty, ESB Chief Executive, said: “Donal has been a highly respected executive team colleague and valued Group Finance Director. He has made a lasting contribution to the company and given great support to the Board and to me as Chief Executive. We all wish him continued success in his new role”.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Flynn said, "I am extremely fortunate and proud to have worked as Group Finance Director, for a great Irish company like ESB. On a personal level, I could not have wished to work with more professional and committed colleagues."

Mr. Flynn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from NUI Galway and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from University College Dublin. Prior to joining ESB in August 2010, Mr. Flynn was Chief Financial Officer with SSE Airticity and held a number of finance roles in General Electric.
