ESB ecars “Win a Year’s Free EV Charging” Competition

Terms & Conditions

1. The promoter is ESB ecars, a business unit of the Electricity Supply Board, having its principal place of business at ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland (the “Promoter”).
2. The Promotion is a competition to win one of two fixed promotional EV charging credits, each with a maximum value of €1,322.74. One prize will be awarded for each daily draw held in connection with the NEVO Electric Vehicle Show 2026.
3. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Promotion and/or these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary due to circumstances beyond its control, fraud, technical failure, legal or regulatory requirements, or any event affecting the fair or safe administration of the Promotion. Any action will be taken fairly and, where practicable, communicated appropriately.
4. By entering, Participants will be deemed to have accepted, and be bound by, these Terms and Conditions.
5. To qualify for the Promotion, a Participant must be aged 18 years or over, be resident in the Republic of Ireland and, during the applicable Promotional Period at the ESB ecars stand at NEVO 2026, either: (i) sign up as a new customer to an ESB ecars Charge Lite or Charge Smart monthly subscription plan; or (ii) upgrade an existing ESB ecars Pay As You Go account to Charge Lite or Charge Smart. An existing Pay As You Go customer who completes such an upgrade qualifies for entry. Entry is subject to successful completion and validation of the qualifying sign-up or upgrade.
6. Employees of ESB, its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and employees of agencies, contractors or other persons professionally connected with the design or administration of the Promotion, together with their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter.
7. In the event of any dispute regarding this Promotion, the decision of the Promoter will be final, subject to applicable law.

Promotion Entries

8. To enter, an eligible Participant must complete REGISTER FREE at nevo.ie/electric-vehicle-show and the qualifying sign-up or upgrade at the ESB ecars stand during the applicable daily Promotional Period. Following successful completion and validation, the Participant will receive one entry into the applicable daily prize draw. Full Terms and Conditions must be made available at the stand and online before the qualifying action is completed. 9. A maximum of one entry per individual and per ESB ecars customer account is permitted across the Promotion. Entries are non-transferable. Bulk, third-party, automated, incomplete, fraudulent, corrupted or otherwise invalid entries, or entries not made in accordance with these instructions, will not be accepted. The Promoter may require reasonable evidence of identity, residence, age, account ownership and completion of the qualifying action.
10. If a prize winner is disqualified, is ineligible, declines the prize or cannot be contacted, the Promoter may select an alternative winner at random from the remaining valid entries for the applicable daily draw. Any substitute winner will be subject to the eligibility requirements in clauses 5 and 6.
11. Entries must be submitted at the ESB ecars exhibition stand during NEVO 2026 on Saturday, 7 November 2026 or Sunday, 8 November 2026. Each day is a separate entry period and a separate prize draw. Entries for each daily draw will close at the public closing time of the ESB ecars stand on that day. Competition opening and closing times will be 9am-7pm on both the 7th & 8th of November 2026. Only successfully completed ESB ecars membership plan sign-ups completed during the Promotional Period will qualify as a valid Competition entry. Pending, duplicated, cancelled, withdrawn, refunded, reversed, incomplete, unsuccessful or failed membership transactions or registrations will not be eligible for entry into the Competition. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and to disqualify any entry that does not satisfy the Competition requirements or these Terms and Conditions.

Prize Winners

12. One prize winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received during each applicable daily Promotional Period. The two draws will take place within fourteen days after the conclusion of NEVO 2026. No Participant may win more than one prize. The retention period will end on the 30th of November 2026. Derek Reilly of Nevo will be our witness to the draw.
13. Each provisional winner must be contactable using the details associated with the relevant ESB ecars account and must provide any information reasonably required to verify eligibility and accept the prize.

The prize consists of

14. Each prize consists of promotional EV charging credit with a fixed maximum value of €1,322.74, to be credited directly to the verified winner’s active eligible ESB ecars account. The credit represents the Promoter’s defined value of one year’s public EV charging for this Promotion; it is not unlimited charging. Once the credit is exhausted or expires, standard ESB ecars tariffs, subscription charges and other applicable fees will apply.
15. Following verification and acceptance, ESB ecars will apply the promotional credit directly to the winner’s eligible account within a reasonable period. The credit may be used only for eligible public charging sessions supplied through the ESB ecars charging network in accordance with prevailing ESB ecars customer, membership and charging terms. Unless ESB confirms otherwise in writing, the credit does not cover monthly subscription fees, third-party roaming charges, parking charges, overstay or penalty fees, or any other non-eligible charge.
16. All promotional charging credit must be used within three years from the date it is applied to the winner’s account. Any unused balance will then expire and will not be reissued, refunded, exchanged for cash or reinstated. The winner must maintain an active eligible ESB ecars account in good standing while credit remains.
17. The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable, cannot be sold, assigned or exchanged, and no cash alternative will be offered. The Promoter may substitute the prize with an alternative of equal or greater value only where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make substitution necessary and where permitted by law.
18. Each provisional winner will be contacted using the details associated with the relevant ESB ecars account. If a provisional winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within fourteen days, is ineligible or declines the prize, the prize will lapse and the Promoter may select an alternative winner in accordance with clause 10.

Data Protection

19. Personal data collected for the Promotion will be used to administer the Promotion, validate entries, select and contact winners, and fulfil prizes. It will not be used for unrelated marketing unless the Participant has provided separate valid consent.
20. Personal data will be stored securely and retained only for the period necessary to administer and audit the Promotion, after which it will be deleted or anonymised in accordance with ESB retention requirements. The data deletion date will be 30th November 2026.

Publicity

22. A winner may be invited to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the Promotion. Participation will be voluntary and subject to consent where required by law. Refusal to participate will not affect prize entitlement.

Promoter’s Decisions, Liability and Cancellation

23. The Promoter may disqualify an entry where it reasonably believes these Terms and Conditions have been breached, false information has been supplied, or fraud, manipulation or abuse has occurred. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable for loss, damage or injury arising from participation in the Promotion or acceptance or use of the prize, except for liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects an entrant’s statutory rights.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

24. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. The Irish courts will have jurisdiction in relation to disputes arising from the Promotion, without prejudice to any mandatory rights available to consumers.
