Offshore Wind Energy

Investing in a clean energy future

We have been involved in offshore wind generation since 2017 while we have a number of planned projects for Ireland and the UK.
We have partnered with Ørsted to develop a pipeline of offshore wind development projects off the Irish coast and complementary renewable hydrogen projects. Together, we will work together to help decarbonise the Irish electricity system and enable future renewable energy exports to Europe.

Construction complete at our Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm in Scotland

We recently marked the completion of our Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm in Scotland, developed in partnership with EDF. The wind farm, located 15.5km off the coast of Fife, has 54 wind turbines now generating up to 450 megawatts of clean, green electricity. This is enough to power around 375,000 homes, and will offset over 400,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

Projects Under Construction

We have partnered with global players to deliver offshore projects in Scotland and England.

Inch Cape

In partnership with Red Rock Power Limited, we are developing this wind farm 15km from the Angus Coastline in Scotland. Once developed, it will produce 1.1GW of clean electricity which is the equivalent to powering more than 1.7 million homes.

Harnessing wave energy for the future

Harnessing our natural resources – including wave - can help Ireland achieve its climate targets and provide clean energy for homes, farms and businesses. We are working on an demonstrative wave project off the Co Clare coast which aims to prove the viability of wave energy in Irish seas. Known as Saoirse, the 4.9 MW wave farm pilot uses CorPower technology and is supported by the EU Innovation Fund.
