ACCELERATE: The Transition to a Net Zero Future Begins Now

Low Carbon Future

Achieving Net Zero is a priority for ESB, and for society across our planet as a whole. This requires significant planning and transformation of processes in various sectors of society, especially in the electricity sector. This is why ESB, in partnership with The Institute of International & European Affairs (IIEA), is pleased to present the conference ACCELERATE: The Transition to a Net Zero Future. The ACCELERATE conference will showcase a vision for a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for all people as our journey to net zero continues. The one-day conference will take place on Monday, 10 October 2022 at the Mansion House in Dublin.

Why is it Important?

The electricity sector is anchored at the heart of the clean energy transformation. Electricity will be central to the delivery of clean power to citizens across the globe, and the increased electrification of the economy will make a vital contribution to the decarbonisation of transport, buildings, and industry.

About the Conference

The international conference will explore the role of the electricity sector in the clean energy transformation for all across society. International experts will set out ideas for stronger community engagement with innovative technologies to accelerate cross-sectoral transformations of our society that will lead to a clean energy future where no one is left behind.

By offering examples of ways that citizens can harness the benefits of increased digitalisation in the electricity sector on the journey to net zero, the 2022 programme will seek to inspire and inform. A diverse range of keynote speakers will set out a vision for stronger community engagement with innovative technologies to accelerate cross-sectoral transformations of our society and lead to a clean energy future where no one is left behind.

Speakers

The conference will feature a distinguished line-up of international and Irish policymakers, artists, global thought leaders, industry representatives, and academics who will examine the clean energy transformation. Some of the speakers are:
